About the producer

Located in the heart of Gevrey Chambertin, this miniscule 4 hectares estate has passed from father to son for generations, yet the winemaking is now carried out by Marc’s only daughter Alexandrine. She has made a huge impact on the domaine, having previously spent time in other classic Pinot Noir regions, such as Oregon & Central Otago. Although Alexandrine has no Grand or 1er Crus, her village wines are of exceptionally quality coming from very old vines (70 yr old for the Vieilles Vignes). She lavishes meticulous care & attention to detail on her ‘village’ level holdings in order to consistently produce elegant and refined wines, which have earned her & the domaine no shortage of press & accolades. With the continued participation of her father Marc, the domaine’s holdings are sufficiently limited in size for Alexandrine to oversee all facets of the production in minute detail.

The vineyards are tended with a “gardener’s” attentive eye and go a long way in explaining how she is able to craft such pure and precise wines. Consequently, she produces uniformly ripe fruit from vineyards, which are supremely healthy. With her regular harvest team, all triage (fruit selection) is implemented in the vineyard, rather than in the cellar, ensuring that only pristine fruit is brought to the chai. The 4 hectares of vines produce a white Marsannay & 3 red Gevrey cuvées; Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes (70 yrs of age), Gevrey Chambertin ‘Clos Prieur’ (a ‘village’ lieu-dit, just below Mazis-Chambertin) and a Gevrey ‘village’ labelled as ‘Cuvée Alexandrine’, produced solely from ‘millerandé’ clusters picked in various plots across her estate; produced in strictly limited quantity!
