Description

Sourced from 2 parcels within the commune planted in 1935 and 1969. One parcel is heavy clay soil, whilst the other is more free-draining sandy soil.

Tasting note

The wine is remarkably intense in colour and has aromas of fresh and ripe fruits. In the mouth it has concentration and structure. It is "chewy" and needs some time to reach its peak.

About the producer

Thomas Morey, the younger son of Bernard Morey, represents the tenth generation of this well-known and highly regarded Chassagne wine family. He grew up with intimate knowledge of his grandparents’ holdings and then worked very closely for 12 years with his parents. He established his cellar in the old family house in Chassagne in 2006. Thomas is currently diligently working his 9hectares of vines, two-thirds white and one-third red, very quickly establishing himself as one of the bright young stars of the appellation. His style is different from that of his father, in as much as the wines tend to be slightly leaner and tighter in profile – perhaps closer to the modern interpretation of quality white Burgundy?
